The 2008 China Cotton Industry Development Summit Forum, hosted by the China Cotton Association (CCA) was held in Hangzhou of Zhejiang province May 7th and 8th.
This forum with the theme of “The Chinese and Global Cotton Industry: Long Term Development and Cooperation ” is the third of the series, which the first two was held in 2004 with the theme of China Cotton Industry’s Influence to the World and 2006 with the theme of Globalization and China Cotton Industry.
Including 100 from overseas, about 600 people attended this meeting. Mr.Lin Naiji, vice president of China Cotton Association(CCA) gave a keynote address about market changes and challenges. Mr.Shi Jianwei, executive vice president of CCA gave a analysis on China cotton situation. He said the production will keep stable, yarn output will grow at a lower speed, the short-gap of domestic supply will still continue and the price will be at high level.
